For one week this summer, budding basketball stars have a rare opportunity. During the week of June 30th, Cleveland Cavaliers Forward Omri Casspi will be conducting an instructional camp in association with Tamir Goodman. Casspi was a first-round pick in the 2009 NBA draft and is the league’s only Israel native. Goodman was christened the “Jewish Jordan” by Sports Illustrated magazine, and played Division 1 college basketball without violating Shabbos.
The Casspi-Goodman camp will give children in grades 1 through 12 a world-class basketball environment to improve their skills on and off the court. The duo believes that a positive sporting experience helps foster important life skills: a strong work ethic, the value of teamwork and being tolerant of others.
The camp will take place at City Sports (62 New Jersey 4, Englewood, NJ 07631) from June 30th – July 4th, 2013. Grades 1-8 will train from 9 a.m. – 12 noon; grades 9 – 12 will train from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sign up at http://www.tamirgoodman.com/casspi-goodman-camp/
