(Courtesy of Chayal el Chayal) Chayal el Chayal, an organization dedicated to supporting the IDF lone soldiers and security forces, is proud to kick off its annual Chanukah initiative, Operation: Light Up the Frontlines. This special campaign ensures that soldiers defending
Israel’s borders experience the warmth and joy of Chanukah while serving on the front lines.
Chanukah is a time of light, hope and unity, yet for many soldiers stationed far from their families, it can also be a reminder of what they’re missing. “Operation: Light Up the Frontlines” brings the spirit of Chanukah directly to the soldiers by delivering menorahs, candles, fresh sufganiyot and heartfelt support to the soldiers in the field and to IDF bases across the country.
Highlights of the Operation:
Menorah Lightings on Bases: Soldiers will gather to light the menorah together, performing the mitzvah of Chanukah by remembering the battles that were fought by the Maccabees so long ago, creating moments of reflection and unity amid their duties.
Delicious Treats: Volunteers will distribute fresh, warm sufganiyot to bring a taste of home to the front lines.
Uplifting Energy: Soldiers will join in singing, dancing and celebrations that lift their spirits and remind them of the nation’s gratitude, raising morale on the front lines.
“In the last 14 months our soldiers have sacrificed so much to keep us safe,” said Mordy Botnick, director of Chayal el Chayal. “Through this operation, we aim to give back — to remind them they’re not alone and to bring the light of Chanukah to even the farthest and darkest corners.”
This year, with increasing challenges on the front lines, the need for support is greater than ever. Chayal el Chayal invites the global community to join in this effort by sponsoring menorahs, sufganiyot and other essentials that make this initiative possible.
