On Saturday, November 4 at 8:30 p.m., the Orthodox Forum of Edison and Highland Park will present David Jablinowitz, op ed editor of the Jerusalem Post. Originally planned as a presentation in person, Jablinowitz will present live from Israel and will adapt his talk to recent events. Support for this program has been provided by the Nelson and Minkoff families to honor the memory of Hilton Nelson, a’h and Muriel Minkoff, a’h.
David (Ze’ev) Jablinowitz, born in Brooklyn, moved to Israel right out of college (1981), is currently the op ed editor of The Jerusalem Post, the author of Israel’s “Bus Stories” on Facebook, and is compiling stories for a book-in-progress. From 1981 to 2018 he reported on political and diplomatic affairs for Israeli radio.
Jablinowitz has interviewed seven Israeli prime ministers, and in 2016 conducted a phone conversation with then President Barack Obama, after which the president dropped a plan to present a U.N. Security Council resolution on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The U.S.-sponsored resolution would have stipulated the parameters for a resolution to the conflict and a timeframe for reaching an agreement. The conversation with the president is referenced in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recently-published memoirs.
