(Courtesy of OJCC) An event designed to provide the Anglo American community in Israel with the knowledge, skills and connections needed to thrive in the business sector, the third Israel-Anglo Empowerment Conference and Expo is scheduled to take place on Feb. 21 from 1-4:30 p.m. The conference will be hosted at the Nefesh B’Nefesh Conference Center in Jerusalem.
The event will offer a range of educational and empowering sessions, workshops and networking opportunities, all of which are designed to address the unique challenges and opportunities facing the Anglo American community in Israel. Some of the topics that will be covered include navigating the business landscape in Israel, trade and bringing products from the U.S. to Israel, job creation and business opportunities, business services exhibits, outsourcing, expanding businesses to the U.S., and career employment. Additionally, there will be a women-in-the-workforce track, which will include a focus on women’s business development and networking opportunities.
Some of the distinguished speakers who will be presenting at the event include Ed Mermelstein, commissioner for New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ Office for International Affairs; Robyn Kessler, commercial counselor/senior commercial officer at the U.S Embassy Jerusalem|U.S Department of Commerce; and deputy mayor of Jerusalem, Fleur Hassan-Nahoum. These speakers will provide valuable insights and expertise on topics such as connecting and doing business with New York City, working with the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Embassy, and navigating the business landscape in Israel and building international and diaspora relations.
One of the highlights of the event is the women-in-the-workforce track, which will be hosted by Lesley Kaplan, founder of Build & Brand Your Biz. Kaplan is a business strategist, branding, and goal-achieving coach who will provide valuable insights and networking opportunities for women in business.
The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to providing educational and empowering networking opportunities for Anglo Americans in Israel. The event aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively do business in Israel and connect them with opportunities for job creation and business expansion. Through this event, the chamber seeks to facilitate connections and collaboration between Anglo Americans and other business stakeholders in Israel and the U.S. while promoting trade and the exchange of products and services between the two countries.
