Paterson Shul Seeks Donations for High Holiday Chazzanim

The Paterson Shul is looking for financial assistance/donations of any amount to help cover the expense of retaining talented, experienced and highly committed chazanim to lead the high holiday services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, read the Torah portions and blow the shofar. They are also looking to raise funds for additional updated machzorim (Hebrew-English large print as well as Russian/Hebrew) and a new yad.

The Paterson Shul, the last known regular minyan in Paterson, NJ, is housed in the basement of Federation Apartments in Paterson and attended regularly by a modest crowd of elderly men and women who live in the Federation Apartments and join the minyan on various Shabbats and all Jewish holidays. The shul is run in the Orthodox tradition but is open to all individuals of any Jewish background.

Checks made out to Jewish Community Housing Corp., in any amount, are tax deductible and can be mailed to or dropped off at:

Jerry Schranz

c/o The Paterson Shul

2-11 Kenneth Avenue

Fair Lawn, NJ 07410

There is no cost to join and they maintain a schedule of regular Shabbats and holiday services.

The shul would like to thank the initial donors who have been very generous. For more information on making a donation or making the minyan, email Jerry Schranz at [email protected].
