Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Hi! I think more people played The Cufflink Game with me over last Shabbat than ever did before! Thanks for not being shy, y’all! If you recall, I had two separate links. One was the “@$%@!” (Officially called “Grawlix”) which represented Balaam’s attempted cursing, and the other was the crossed swords—the first of which represented the angel holding the sword that got in the way of Balaam’s donkey, and the latter for Pinchas’ stand against inappropriateness.

And now, a game of Linkachu, what say you? Take a gander at the connection to this week’s parsha. Ya know, make it … count. Oy, that was terrible. Wish I could take it abacus. Oy, that was worse. My number’s up. Okay, I’m done here. Shabbat shalom, everyone!

For years now, Martin Bodek has been wearing cuff links themed to the week’s parsha, to stimulate conversation around the Shabbat table. Naturally, it begged for a wider audience, and The Jewish Link seems like a perfect home—especially in name. Every week, we’ll present the cuff links, and you tell us how it ties in to the parsha of the week. E-mail your guesses, educated and otherwise, to [email protected] and we’ll publish the best and most creative answers a week later. Have fun!
