From the beginning of last week already, Westchester Torah Academy was excited about Purim. Everyone was surprised when the whole school was transformed from a modern building into the ancient Persian city of Shushan on Monday morning, and the week continued day by day! From a spa day, just like Esther had when she was selected by Achashverosh, to Coronation day, where Esther was crowned by her new king, the whole week followed the story of Purim. Of course, the most fun was Purim itself. This year, WTA was excited to host multiple Megillah readings, including a women’s reading led largely by the eighth grade girls. Parents, students and teachers celebrated together, showing off their creative costumes and then did it all over again on Shushan Purim, at the fantastic Purim carnival! Kol hakavod to the amazing students who learned the Megillah and to the bnot sheirut for creating a spectacular carnival.
