It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of the Rabbi Emeritus of the Young Israel of Passaic Clifton, HaRav Chaim Wasserman, zt”l.
Beloved husband of Rebbetzin Leah Wasserman and beloved father of Adina Mermelstein, Shmuel Wasserman, a”h, Rabbi Daniel Wasserman and Hillel Wasserman.
Rabbi Wasserman’s illustrious career of impact on Klal Yisrael spanned rabbanus, chinuch, kiruv, rabbinic training and Jewish organizational work. His contributions to the development of the Passaic-Clifton community were foundational in establishing the vibrant kehila that we have today. He was a passionate lover of Israel, and deeply cherished the opportunity to live there in his final years. His legacy continues to live on in the values that define our kehila to this day, and through the presence of his beautiful family.
The levaya took place in Israel on Erev Shabbat, June 24.
May the Wasserman and Mermelstein families be comforted amongst the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim.
