Rabbi David Silber to Speak at Cong. Rinat Yisrael

On Sunday, March 5, at 8:00 p.m., the Adult Education Committees of Congregations Rinat Yisrael and Netivot Shalom proudly present Rabbi David Silber, Dean of the Drisha Institute, addressing “Is God in the Megillah?” from his new book “For Such a Time as This: Biblical Reflection in the Book of Esther.”

Rabbi David Silber is the founder and dean of Drisha, which provides students of all ages and backgrounds with the opportunity to encounter Jewish texts in a serious, intellectually rigorous and inclusive manner. Its dedication to teaching Torah to women and men has strengthened Jewish lives and communities for close to 40 years. Rabbi Silber received the Covenant Award in 2000 and is the author of “A Passover Haggadah: Go Forth and Learn,” published by JPS in 2011, and the newly released “For Such a Time as This: Biblical Reflections in the Book of Esther” [Hebrew], published by Koren Publishers.

The event will be held at Congregation Rinat Yisrael, located at 389 W. Englewood Avenue in Teaneck.

Signed copies of Rabbi Silber’s new book will be available for a discount at the event.
