Rabbi Goldin to Speak at YIOT on ‘Lessons From the Garden of Eden’

The Young Israel of Teaneck (YIOT) is pleased to announce that Rabbi Shmuel Goldin, Rabbi of Congregation Ahavath Torah in Englewood, will speak on Sunday, September 25, at 8 p.m., on the topic of “Lessons From the Garden of Eden: What Does God Really Want?” This event is part of the YIOT’s Dr. Bertram J., z”l, & Ann Newman Adult Education Program and is sponsored by Sivan and Neil Greenspan in commemoration of the yahrtzeits of Sivan’s parents, Asher Ze’ev and Pnina Leah Rabinowitz, z”l.

“We are thrilled to be able to host Rabbi Goldin at the Young Israel of Teaneck,” said Rabbi Binyamin Krohn, Rabbi of the Young Israel of Teaneck. “Rabbi Goldin is well-known for his sophisticated and meaningful style, and I know our members will be challenged both spiritually and intellectually by his presentation.”

Rabbi Goldin has been the spiritual leader of Congregation Ahavath Torah for over 30 years. For over 20 years he taught as instructor of Bible and Philosophy at the Isaac Breuer College and the James Striar School of Yeshiva University and continues to appear as a visiting scholar and lecturer in a wide variety of settings across the globe. He is a Past President of the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA), and currently occupies the critical role of chairman of the RCA committee overseeing policies and standards for conversion to Judaism.

Rabbi Goldin recently published a five-volume set of studies on the weekly parsha, Unlocking the Torah Text, which is based on his numerous years of lecturing in school and synagogue settings and has earned wide popular and critical acclaim in the broader Jewish community.
