(Courtesy of BCHA) Rabbi Joshua Rosenfeld, the new Judaic Studies principal at the Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy of Connecticut, will be delivering a shiur sponsored by the Center for Community Education (CCE) at the Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy of Connecticut on Wednesday evening, July 14, at 8:45 p.m..

The subject of his talk will be “Kamtza and Bar Kamtza: An Unfamiliar Look at a Familiar Story.” The online program will be accessible through Zoom.

Michael Feldstein, the co-chair of the CCE, said, “We are very fortunate to host Rabbi Rosenfeld for this program. He has an engaging personality and is an extremely thoughtful educator. His insights about the Kamtza and Bar Kamtza story will certainly be interesting.”

Prior to his arrival in Stamford and his working at Bi-Cultural, Rabbi Rosenfeld was the middle school principal at Manhattan Day School and the associate rabbi at Lincoln Square Synagogue in New York City.

Rabbi Rosenfeld studied for two years in Yeshivat HaKotel and served in the IDF in the 605th Combat Engineers as a lone soldier through the Second Lebanon War. He received a bachelor’s degree with honors in English Literature from Yeshiva University, where he was a Wilf Family Scholar. He holds a master’s degree from the Azrieli Graduate School and obtained semicha from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary.

The Center for Community Education is a new initiative of the Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy of Connecticut that aims to inspire thoughtful conversation related to the spectrum of Jewish issues.
