(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) Last week, Governor Phil Murphy relayed the budget to the Joint Session of the NJ Legislature. Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky was honored to give the benediction at the session. He spoke about thanking God each day, abiding by the seven Noahide Laws, and giving charity daily. He expounded on the fact that every dollar bill is imprinted with the words “In God We Trust.” By giving charity to others, along with the belief and trust we have in God, we merit to receive God’s abundance in everything we need—life, children and sustenance. Moreover, all the money we earn should be used only for good things.
Rabbi Kanelsky continued by mentioning the upcoming holiday of Purim. The Purim miracle occurred after Mordechai Hatzaddik learned Torah with 22,000 children. So, too, he stated, we should increase funding for education and instill belief in God in every child.
