Rabbi Ronald Schwarzberg to Discuss Tikkun Olam in Highland Park

The Orthodox Jewish Forum of Edison/Highland Park presents “When Did Tikkun Olam Become a Jewish Value?” Rabbi Ronald Schwarzberg, director of Jewish career guidance and placement, Yeshiva University Center for the Jewish Future, will speak on Orthodox American Jewry’s Involvement with Social Justice on Saturday, December 22, at 8:00 p.m. at Congregation Ahavas Achim, 216 South First Ave, Highland Park, New Jersey. This event is free of charge.

Rabbi Schwarzberg will discuss Orthodoxy’s relationship with the concept of tikkun olam. He will address the ways in which traditional Jewish commentaries from Talmudic times until the present day have instructed Torah-observant Jews to interact with the non-Jewish world and to be involved in social justice, and the reasons for doing so.
