A new Magen David Adom ambulance has been dedicated to the community of Ofakim in the memory of Aaron Haimov, H”yd a devoted ambulance driver tragically killed by terrorists on Oct. 7 while responding to an emergency in Ofakim. Haimov was killed while driving the ambulance donated in 2022 by Elie Y and Esther Katz’s family and the Bergen County community in honor of the bar mitzvah of their son, Ari (Ziggy) Katz.
Haimov was highly regarded for his selfless dedication to saving lives and providing care in the most critical situations. His untimely death has left a profound impact on his community and those who knew him. Haimov left behind a wife and two young children. The Katz family, including Elie Y, Esther, Tani, Ari and Kayla, chose to honor Haimov’s legacy by contributing this vital resource to Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service.
This ambulance will not only serve as a tribute to Haimov’s bravery but will also enhance the emergency response capabilities in the region. The Katz family’s gesture highlights the importance of supporting emergency services that save lives every day.
As the new ambulance takes to the streets of Ofakim, it will carry with it the memory of Aharon Haimov and his lifesaving work, inspiring future generations to uphold the values of compassion and service that he embodied. The dedication of this ambulance is a poignant reminder of the impact one individual can have and the collective strength of community.
