Riverdale Resident Relaunches Free Jewish High School Library Website

Diane Romm, a resident of Riverdale, New York has announced the relaunch of her website, Jewish High School Library, at www.jewishhslibrary.com. The site provides access to free online resources for high school students in Judaic and secular studies.

Additional features of the site include: a professional section for teachers; a list of publishers of Jewish books (created by Izzy Cohen); help with standardized tests such as the SAT, AP and New York State Regents exams; and links to databases provided by public libraries throughout the United States and Canada.

“I originally created the site as part of my work with the AVI CHAI Bookshelf program that functioned for several years to help Jewish high school libraries and librarians throughout the U.S. and Canada,” said Romm. “Our goal was to provide students and teachers with easy access to free online resources vetted for their reliability that would help them in their studies.”

The website complements Romm’s two other online products. The Jewish Guide to the Internet (www.jewishinternetguide.com) contains an annotated list of more than 2,000 Jewish websites divided into 100 categories, the only such online directory of Jewish sites on the Internet. Jewish Digital Collections (www.jewishdigitalcollections.com) contains an annotated list of more than 350 sites that house digitized collections of Jewish material divided into 22 subject areas and is the only site on the Internet that provides an aggregated collection of such material.
