Kol hakavod to the JKHA and RKYHS students whose art and writing earned each of them a Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the nation’s largest, longest-running, most prestigious visual and literary arts program recognizing accomplishments of students in grades seven to 12. Former winners include writers and artists Joyce Carol Oates, Jonathan Safran Foer, Robert Redford, Andy Warhol and Truman Capote, among many other famous American writers and artists. The RKYHS and JKHA students earned Silver Key and Honorable Mention awards in the northeast regional competition for their art and writing, and those who earned Silver Key will be entered in the next national competition.
