RKYHS is proud to announce its students who qualified for recognition from the National Merit Scholarship program. Senior Josh Gindi has been named a National Merit Commended student and senior Isaac Mendelsohn was selected to continue on in the scholarship process as a semifinalist. Of the 1.6 million program entrants, each of these students is among the top 50,000 highest scoring participants. Mendelsohn was selected among 16,000 other students nation-wide to advance to the semi-finalist round. All semi-finalists will have the opportunity to continue the competition for the chance to win one of 7,600 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $31 million, which will be offered in the spring.
