Members of the RKYHS Habitat for Humanity club in the 12th grade were thrilled to be able to volunteer at an outdoor work site. Club members went to Patterson and assisted in the building of a house and preparing the house to be painted. The subsidized house will be offered to a family in need through the Habitat for Humanity organization. In preparation for the trip, students met over Zoom last night with alum Julia Langman (JKHA ‘16/RKYHS ‘20). As a student at RKYHS, Langman was president of the Habitat for Humanity club and continues to volunteer with the organization in college. Langman spoke to students about what to expect, the importance of what they are doing and the positive impact of volunteering.
