To close out the first week of Chanukah at RKYHS students competed in Kushner Cup! The Color War type competition engaged students in a whole variety of activities. Competition for the two teams—Team Menorah and Team Maccabim, started off with teacher vs. student basketball and volleyball games. A whole host of activities followed including Torah Scattergories, vocabulary bee, chess and sports trivia. Both teams had an extra layer of competition at the Brain Challenge game show to win points for their team. The activities continued with a plethora of ways to earn points in Minute to Win it Extreme, Chanukah Jeopardy, reverse charades, college bowl, 3-point shootout, geography bee and much more. The highlight of the day was the Amazing RAE-ce, an apache relay style challenge that had students competing all over the building.

The competition continued on day two with more activities for students to earn points. Both teams gathered together in the Epstein-Stein Auditorium for the conclusion of Kushner Cup. Students watched presentations of each team’s hard work on a team banner, faculty portrait, music video, team videos, a lip sync battle and more. Congratulations to Team Maccabim on its Kushner Cup victory!
