Robots walked the Shushan red carpet in a JKHA middle school Moadim L’STEAMcha interdisciplinary program. Students first learned in their Judaic Studies classes about the reasons that we dress up on Purim and wear masks, and studied different characters and ideas in the Megilla that teach about wearing masks, and how the character’s exterior didn’t always match their interior feelings. They then created costumes for Dash and Dot and Sphero Ball Robots, based on characters in the Megilla, and coded the robots using coding apps, such as sphero edu and blockly to “walk the runway.” The robots rolled through on the red carpet while being judged by a panel of faculty judges.
