RPRY capitalized on the once in a lifetime opportunity of the solar eclipse by teaching students about the concept of ’מה רבו מעשיך ה. Middle school and upper elementary school students studied about the eclipse in science class and were then encouraged by rebbeim and morahs to use this unique moment to pause and recognize that Hashem’s world is filled with magnificent moments every day. Students took time walking outside considering the wonders of the world and created a magnificent mural outside the beit midrash filled with personally selected photos of the beauty of nature. Lower elementary school students were visited by Elementary School Principal. Chana Luchins with a “nature cart” that included a lesson on how the ocean and moon are connected while the students enjoyed looking at different objects that come from the sea. When the eclipse was at its peak middle school students joined together outside with their special glasses and broke out into emotional song, while younger students were equally mesmerized using livestream to witness this rare opportunity and come closer to Hashem.
