Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Planning! Collaboration! Kindness! Fun! Torah learning! Throughout Chanukah, RPRY lower elementary students marshaled their expertise in Torah, social skills and engineering acumen through numerous activities in their class. Here are a few highlights from the incredible Chanukah experience: Students played “Pass the Present” and answered challenging Chanukah trivia games while they practiced their self-regulation. They planned together for “The Great Lego Challenge” and their dynamic dioramas, with clever scenes ranging from oil presses, Batei Mikdash and menorot to real, spinning dreidels and giant Maccabim. The children explored some of the science behind successful dreidel spinning and had a very passionate and exciting dreidel spin-off. Finally, the activities culminated with a special zot Chanukah museum gallery walk. The student architects and engineers set up their models and gave feedback to each other. Students’ compliments included, “This is a masterpiece,” “I am so impressed with the details on your dreidel” and “I love it. This is so cool!”
