Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

The budding engineers of seventh grade science rose to the task of not only building popsicle stick bridges, but making them strong enough to hold many textbooks! Over the last few Wondrous Wednesdays, both the boys and the girls classes worked in collaborative groups to design, engineer and build these bridges using just two things: popsicle sticks and hot glue. What makes this and other Wondrous Wednesday projects so exciting, is watching students interact, collaborate and compromise to create something they can really be proud of. While all the bridge designs were successful, a number of them simply did not collapse under the ever increasing pile of textbooks. One group only stopped piling the books on when the period ended! Now that this latest challenge is completed, the students can not wait for the next one.
