RPRY Families Enjoy Parent Child Learning

Grades four through eight enjoyed parent-child learning at Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva. Fourth and fifth grade students learned the deeper meaning of Ma’oz Tzur. An interactive timeline activity had participants place the different stanzas describing the Jewish people’s exiles in historical context and chronological order. Parents and children were able to learn about Chanukah together in an engaging and festive environment.

Sixth to eighth grade students and parents learned the story of Chana in depth, examining how her family’s commitment to Jewish values guided their decisions and what is learned from it for modern day dilemmas. This topic laid the groundwork for lively discussions about sport tournaments on Shabbat as well as other contemporary instances of standing up for one’s principles. The learning program was a thought provoking and bonding event greatly enjoyed by parents and students alike.
