After finishing their unit on coding and robotics this week, the seventh grade boys went to see real world applications of what they learned, visiting the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Edison! While touring through the enormous plant, the students had the chance to view the coded robots and machines up-close and in action. Yehoshua Silvi, one of the seventh graders who visited the plant, said he observed how complicated the coding is that programs the robots to move a package through the plant and how quickly the entire process moves- particularly the conveyor belts! The students witnessed the how each item is received, sorted, packaged and then prepared for shipment to the customer, all while being controlled by robots. It was very exciting to see the learning come to life both in and out of the classroom!
