RTMA Leverages Cutting-Edge VR Technology to Welcome Accepted Applicants

Instead of the typical welcome videos upon which many schools rely, students at the Rav Teiz Mesivta Academy had a vision of creating a cutting-edge virtual reality set of goggles that, when worn, would allow users to experience an immersive 3D tour of the school and feel as if they were live within the video itself.

As one of only four schools from across North America chosen to participate in the CIJE Robotics Challenge this year, RTMA students were poised to push the envelope of what seemed possible, and leverage the emerging VR (Virtual Reality) technology in an effort to realize their idea.

These advanced science students are already accustomed to thinking outside the box, and RTMA STEM faculty, lead by Mrs. Robin Brewer, are of an equal mindset and provided broad support to help the boys achieve their goal.

Leveraging sophisticated VR videography, audio equipment and video software, the 3D film was seamed together to achieve the realistic look and feel. Users only need to insert their smart phones into cases that were hand-delivered to every single accepted applicant on February 14 (the unilateral day set by the BJE to announce Yeshiva acceptances), and play the video link included.

This is an excellent example of how RTMA is constantly innovating, inspiring and empowering its students to achieve and excel #AboveTheCode.
