RYNJ Dinner Attracts Over 500 Virtual Attendees

(Courtesy of RYNJ) On Monday night, January 18, over 500 families, faculty and friends gathered virtually for the virtual 83rd Annual RYNJ Dinner. This year we chose to pay tribute and express our hakarat hatov to our medical committee. We are deeply grateful for their tireless efforts, which have allowed RYNJ to safely welcome our students back to campus in September and remain open for in-person learning. Thank you to our guests of honor, Dr. Ariella Glaser, Dr. Aylon Glaser and Dr. Noam Salamon. Thank you to our Faculty Leadership Award recipients, Nurse Sarah Faber, Nurse Ariella Kravitz and Nurse Yael Rosman.

The day began with many RYNJ alumni delivering dinner packages to our extended RYNJ family. The dinner boxes included a delicious charcuterie meat board, yummy desserts, RYNJ water bottles, a printed program and scroll of honor. The evening program had both live and video components. Yaacov Apfelbaum, RYNJ president, emceed live from RYNJ and was joined by RYNJ Head of School Rabbi Daniel Price, who shared divrei Torah. We also had beautiful live singing by the RYNJ fifth-grade rebbe, Rabbi Chaim Block, and RYNJ fifth-grade students Yosef and Yehuda Batzri. The honoree tribute video was very inspiring and well deserved and the fun part was presenting our honorees with their gifts, one at a time, in person at RYNJ. The highlight of the evening was surprising our favorite frontline workers, our teachers, with a moving tribute in their honor. As our administrators praised our teachers and spoke of their accomplishments, all of our teachers’ faces were featured. It was just a small token of our appreciation for our unsung heroes. This video as well as our other tributes are available on our website RYNJ.org and on Instagram @rynjyeshiva. While the dinner was not exactly how we normally celebrate together, it was still an enjoyable evening with a meaningful and moving program. We very much look forward to celebrating in person next year!
