There was no bigger fan of the RYNJ boys and the RYNJ Jaguars than Rabbi Dovid Kaminetsky zt”l. He made it his priority to be at every Jaguars game possible. His absence is felt around the halls of RYNJ, but it is also very much felt at all of the RYNJ games. To honor Rabbi K, Jaguars coach Steve Gutlove decided to create patches in his memory for the boys to wear during games. He worked with Jonathan Sklar (a lifelong friend of the Kaminetsky family) at Emroidme to make this vision a reality. Coach Gutlove told the Jewish Link of New Jersey, “The patches started as a vision as I was leaving the levaya, but most printers did not want to take on such a small project. I have tremendous hakarat hatov to Jonathan Sklar for making this happen and Rabbi Price for his support of this project.”

Coach Gutlove continued, “Nobody exemplified how to be a mensch more than Rabbi K and it is an honor for the boys to wear his initials on their jerseys when on the court.”
