RYNJ Launches New Middot Program

This year, it is with great excitement that RYNJ introduces the “Shipur B’Dibbur Program—Shaping Positive Relationships through Speech” in the first and second grades. This program has been designed by the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation. The aim of this year-long curriculum is to cultivate positive speech in young students enabling them to form and sustain strong, meaningful relationships with others. The curriculum includes teaching many age-appropriate social skills and concentrates on dibbur as it applies to peer relationships. The beautifully structured curriculum is divided by monthly topics, which are explored in depth on a bi-weekly basis. Each idea is presented through varied strategies, including adorable poems, discussion questions, gedolim stories, songs, illustrations and puppet role-playing to help every student absorb and apply the lessons. The exciting incentives, as well as the clear and appealing lesson format, further enhance the learning experience for the students.

RYNJ was privileged to have Rabbi Shea Steinberg, the coordinator of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation programs for Northern New Jersey visit the Yeshiva to introduce the cutting-edge middot program to RYNJ teachers and students. In addition to meeting with the Judaic faculty on how to implement the program, Rabbi Steinberg gave dynamic and inspirational presentations to the students about the program and the importance of practicing good middot.
