RYNJ Students STEAM Ahead

RYNJ fourth grade students performed “swimmingly” in this year’s grade four Family STEAM Night! While not exactly the same as prior years due to COVID, the virtual evening paired students with their parents at home. The evening started with a brief introduction from Dan Sanacore, director of Academic Planning and CoCurricular Events, followed by greetings from Devorah Banayan, lower school principal and an explanation of the activity from STEAM teacher Judi Dimbert. In grade four science at RYNJ, students take part in a water unit and as cross-curricular instruction, the virtual STEAM night included a boat-building project. The students were given specific materials in order to build a boat that would be tested for wind, weight distribution and how much weight it could hold. Fourth graders showcased their vast talents and creativity alongside their parents in what turned out to be a fun academic evening!
