RYNJ Students Wow in ‘Pinocchio’

Kol hakavod to the RYNJ seventh grade talmidot of RYNJ for their amazing performance of “Pinocchio” on April 5. The original, Hebrew version was written and directed by Morah Zucker, RYNJ middle school girls Judaic Studies principal, but the entire grade’s participation is what made it such a huge success. The girls spent three months learning their lines, designing costumes, props and scenery, choreographing dances, creating accompanying slides and videos, and working collaboratively in a great spirit of achdut. And they learned so much modern Hebrew along the way!

The talmidot presented their play to the older students in the morning and to the younger students in the afternoon. In the evening, they wowed the audience in a room filled with family and friends. All the proceeds from the evening performance were donated to Project Yechi ( the tzedaka which the talmidot selected to be the recipient this year), and the girls were proud to present Project Yechi with a check for $800. The girls certainly proved the line from the play: Learning Ivrit really is חבל”ז!
