SAR Academy commemorated Yom Hazikaron and celebrated Yom Ha’atzmaut—Israel’s 75th birthday. Yom Hazikaron began with a heartfelt tekes during which students honored the brave chayalim who fought—and sacrificed their lives—defending Medinat Yisrael, and those who lost their lives to acts of terror. They also heard personal stories from former IDF chayalim from Peace of Mind, El Ami and family members of SAR students.

The school then transitioned to Yom Ha’atzmaut—a joyful day, packed with activities and festivities, including a schoolwide musical Hallel, middle school Beit Sefer Lamusika (musical talent show), dancing on the SAR field, a sixth grade daglanut (flag dance) performance, a beautiful lower school closing ceremony and a special community-wide BBQ. The SAR community was able to experience these powerful days together with a cohort of IDF veterans from the elite Sayeret Tzanchanim combat unit in partnership with Peace of Mind by Metiv, an organization that offers trauma therapy to soldiers impacted by war.
