On Sunday, SAR Academy and High School showed up loud and proud at this year’s Israel Day on Fifth Parade. In a sea of people standing strong for Israel, SAR students, faculty and staff danced and sang their way up Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue. They were joined in their march by local elected officials including Congressman Ritchie Torres, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, Assemblyman Jeff Dinowitz and Councilmember Eric Dinowitz. Thank you to all who marched with us and cheered from the sidelines. This year the SAR delegation wore black shirts designed by Dahlia H., an SAR 11th grader. These black shirts read “Am Echad. Lev Echad, One Nation. One Heart” and the design featured a heart and yellow ribbon in solidarity and advocacy for the release of the hostages. It was an amazing day to come together as a school community and as a people. The parade included representation from schools and organizations from across the country who gathered to march in support of Israel. We will never stop—Am Yisrael Chai; Bring Them Home NOW!
