SAR Academy held its first Hebrew Poetry Contest of the year, inviting students from grades two through five to express “Wishes for Israel” in Hebrew. The response was overwhelming, with over 40 submissions each portraying students’ profound connection to Israel. These heartfelt compositions covered various themes, from honoring soldiers and family members to expressing solidarity with Israel. Among the exceptional entries, one of the winning pieces, was a touching poem written for Ohad, a 9-year-old hostage, wishing him a happy birthday and hopes for his safe return. The contest participants gathered, and students shared their poems with one another. The poems are now prominently displayed in the SAR Academy library, and copies were sent to Israeli soldiers. This poetry contest celebrated the students’ creativity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to Israel. Kol hakavod to winners Emmy Schwartz (fourth grade) (first place winner, grades 4-5), Eden Danishefsky (second grade) (first place winner, grades 2-3), Anna Marciano (third grade) (second place winner, grades 2-3), and Temma Mermelstein (fifth grade)(second place winner, grades 4-5), and to all the participants.
