SAR Students Compete In Drone Competition

This week, SAR Academy seventh graders had the opportunity to participate in a STEM drone coding event, called CIJE (Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education) Traveling Drone Competition. In this event, we learned how a drone works and how to code it. We then had the chance to code our drones to fly through an obstacle course. Working in teams of two or three, gave us not only the opportunity to learn about coding but also the opportunity to work as a team. Even though some students did not make it as far through the course as they would have liked, everyone did an amazing job understanding the mission and executing it. We are especially proud of the teams that were successfully able to land their drone on the target at the end of the course! The CIJE instructors admitted that this was the best they had ever seen. Overall, this event was such an incredible team building and learning experience that we were very lucky to participate in.
