Saving One Life Is Like Saving the Entire World

The story of the Schanzer family (“Schanzer Brothers Honor Their Righteous Saviors on Yom Hashoa” May 8, 2022) is an excellent tribute to an outstanding family and their saviors.

I have the privilege and pleasure of being a friend of the Schanzers’ and can attest to their being an exceptional family. They literally rose like a Phoenix from the ashes of the Holocaust to become outstanding examples of the very best models of their communities, their country and entire Jewish people.

They and their entire families are successful in their careers, religious in their practice, very charitable and full of humor, yet unassuming and modest in their demeanor. In short, models of behavior in their communities.

The Talmud says that saving one life is like saving the entire world. This is nowhere as appropriate as for the Schanzer family. May they continue to grow, prosper and go from strength to strength, as the best examples of Jewish conduct.
