Ma’ayanot students and faculty celebrated Lag B’Omer with an incredible day of meaningful and interactive learning, chesed, grade bonding and outdoor fun!

Students started off the day with a special interactive learning program in memory of Donny Morris z”l and all the kedoshim who lost their lives in Meron. The students then created ideas for impactful acts of chesed and programs from which Ma’ayanot students and the community at large could benefit. This was followed by students leaving school to volunteer at various chesed and charity organizations, including JFCS, Care One, Yachad NJ, CFBNJ, Daughters of Miriam, HFBA and Chesed 24/7. Sophomore Miri Rubinstein commented, “I really felt that going to the nursing home was a special way to celebrate Lag B’Omer. We danced, played piano and brought joy to them— =they probably wouldn’t have celebrated the chag otherwise.”

Following the chesed trips, Ma’ayanot faculty and students met up at the Bronx Zoo for some outdoor fun, beautiful weather and grade bonding. The day concluded with a huge bonfire and delicious S’mores back at the school’s campus.
