SAR Academy celebrated Lag B’Omer and BEE4SAR Day, a day on which SAR shows school spirit and marks the launch of its Shavuot appeal. The goal is for 613 families to join the initiative and invest in SAR so that the school can continue to provide all of its students with the best educational experience possible. The day was enhanced by fun activities including a fire show, S’mores and a picnic on the field, capped off by the annual faculty-student kickball and basketball games. For the past 17+ years, SAR Academy students and faculty have participated in the Michael Schreck z”l Memorial Fund tournament, in memory of SAR’s late executive director. The proceeds of this fund are earmarked for scholarships to assist SAR graduates who wish to spend a year of study in Israel. Michael’s wife Vera, children Chaim (AC ‘91) and Rebecca, Moshe (AC ‘92) and Sara, and his grandchildren, remain deeply connected to SAR and are comforted to know his dedication to the school is celebrated each year.
