Shaarei Orah, the Sephardic Synagogue of Teaneck, welcomes Rabbi Dr. Yigal Tsaidi as the scholar-in-residence for this Shabbat, Parshat Toldot. Rabbi Tsaidi will speak four times over Shabbat. He will give an Erev Shabbat dvar Torah at 4:35 p.m., entitled “What Mistake Did Yitzchak and Rivka Make in Jewish Education That Led to a Rasha Like Esav?” He will speak again on Shabbat morning before Musaf, at approximately 10:30 a.m., about “What did Rivka know that Yitzchak did not know? What did Yitzchak see that Rivka did not see?” He will then speak at seudah shlishit, at approximately 4:15 p.m., on the topic of “Why Did Hashem Make Our Matriarchs Barren? The Power of Tefillah—Is It a Means or a Goal?” Finally, he will give a Motzei Shabbat shiur at 6:15 p.m., discussing “Three questions answered by one powerful concept—חקל תפוחין קדישין (Chakal Tapuchin Kadishin). Why did Yitzchak want to bless Esav? How come Yaakov married two sisters? What is hidden in the story of the duda’im?”
