Shaarei Orah Welcomes R’ Yigal Tsaidi as Scholar-in-Residence

Shaarei Orah, The Sephardic Synagogue of Teaneck, hosts Rabbi Dr. Yigal Tsaidi as Scholar-in-Residence for Chanukah Shabbat Mevarchim Miketz on December 19-20th. Rabbi Tsaidi will speak at four different times over Shabbat: Erev Shabbat D’var Torah at 4:30 p.m., “How Yosef brought God with him to Egypt–the common denominator between the Greeks and the Egyptians”; Oneg Shabbat Friday Night at 8:00 p.m., “The main differences between the Jews and the Greeks”; Shabbat Morning Derasha at 10:30 a.m., “The full story of Yosef and his brothers: Why did Yosef not send an email to his father that he is alive?”; and Shabbat Mincha at 3:55 p.m., “Pilpul BaHalacha–What is the Essence of Mehadrin min HaMehadrin?” the famous dispute between Rambam, Tosafot, Shulhan Aruch, and the Rama. Whom do we follow today? The community is welcome to attend the talks.

Rabbi Dr. Yigal Tsaidi is currently the Judaic Director of Alberto Einstein Jewish Day School in Panama City. Prior to this, Rabbi Tsaidi served as the Dean of Judaica at the AmitYud School in Ashdod, Israel for three years. Rabbi Tsaidi studied at Yeshivat Merkaz Harav, under the guidance of Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda Kook, zt”l, earned his Masters in Jewish Education from Boston Hebrew College and his Doctorate in Jewish Education at Yeshiva University and the Jewish University of America.
