The Shabbounty girls are back! When the war in Israel began, the Shabbounty team decided to come out of retirement and raise money to support Zaka, Israel’s rescue and recovery organization. Zaka volunteers perform a chesed shel emet, ensuring a full Jewish burial for those who meet a sudden death. Volunteers have used up four years worth of their supplies since the Oct 7 massacre. The girls hope to raise as much as they can to help this important organization.
Nili Rothenberg and Abby Herman, with their moms’ support, created Shabbounty for their bat mitzvah chesed project last year, selling pre-ripped Bounty paper towels around their community of Teaneck to benefit Zichron Menachem, which supports children with cancer in Israel.
Thanks to some amazing networking, Shabbounty has now expanded to eight teams across the tri-state area including Nili Rothenberg, Abby Herman, Kayla Rieder, Miri Rosenberg and Bree Wolf (Teaneck), Rachellie, Elisheva, Ariella and Leora Herman (Bergenfield), Lily Greenberg (Five Towns), Ayala Stulberger (West Hempstead), Shifra Rothenberg (Passaic), and Emma Lauchheimer and Maddy Shatzkes (Westchester)! The group will be showing their product at the Chanukah mini boutique Bake & Buy for Israel on Tuesday, December 5, at Temple Beth Emeth in Teaneck.
Shabbounty comes in packs of 30 for $10 each. Orders include home delivery by the cute and dedicated “quicker ripper uppers.” Use the QR code to order and follow on Instagram @Shabbounty.
