Shakespeare Theater Of NJ Visits RKYHS

As part of the high school’s exploration of the arts, RKYHS students were treated to an inspirational live performance of “Julius Caesar.” The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey performed this popular tragedy to the student audience. The play explores themes of personal loyalty and patriotic duty, fate and free will, and includes many excellent uses of rhetorical devices. A Q&A with the cast followed the performance where the cast spoke about the relevance of Shakespeare many centuries later, the experience performing Shakespeare and this particular performance, and about performing on stage in general. The students had the meaningful opportunity to experience “The Bard” as he was meant to be experienced: on the stage.
