As the new year begins, people also think of it as a new beginning, and that is exactly what Mrs. Bloomberg’s fifth grade math class began 2021 thinking about. Students were asked to come up with a one word description of how they could improve their work in her class. Then they were tasked with describing in detail exactly why that word was meaningful for them as students. Some of the words chosen were focus, responsible, respectful and faithful. Each student then transferred their information onto symbols of winter such as knit hats, mittens and snowballs. Their final projects are displayed on the bulletin board in the lobby of Academies@ GBDS.
