(Courtesy of Yad Leah) Over 154 community members from the tri-state area joined together at Yad Leah to spend their President’s Weekend doing chesed, packing over 6,750 items of clothing for their brothers and sisters in Israel.
Rabbi Chaim Marcus of Springfield said that “as a father, as a husband, I love Yad Leah. But as a community leader, Yad Leah means so much more. We are here teaching our children what real chesed is, making a difference actively, not only with a check but also with our hands and with our time.”
Ilana Rauzman of Teaneck said, “My family and I had such a wonderful experience volunteering. I was especially moved by the kavod habriot that is involved in this organization. Everyone should feel pride when getting dressed.”
