Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Spotlight on Shalom Farkas

Our next amazing superfan is Shalom Farkas who lives in Teaneck and goes to Yeshivat Noam in Paramus. But, since it’s summer and we don’t want to focus on school, we will say he goes to Camp Regesh in Old Tappan, New Jersey. Shalom is in third grade and is 8 years old. He has two siblings: Eli, 6, and Binyamin, 4. His hobbies consist of playing chess and reading The Jewish Link. When he grows up he wants to be an author but his favorite subject in school is math.

Other than reading my column, in his spare time he likes to play a math battle game called Prodigy with his friend. His favorite books to read are by his favorite author, Abby Hanlon (whose books he would recommend very much as they are hilarious and I would think they are interesting…).

Shalom has a pet fish named Ed. And, as a random fact about him, is that he is going to be in The Jewish Link (or if you are reading this then he has been in The Jewish Link!). He also has been in it a few times before, but not in my column so it doesn’t count.

Shalom loves to read the memes of the week and basically every single part of The Jewish Link (especially the real estate). He listed almost all the sections of The Jewish Link when I asked which parts he liked. One of his favorite memes was, “A Chanukah miracle happened to me. I had an eight-day supply of donuts and it only lasted one day.” He usually is the first person in his family to get to The Jewish Link and he almost always reads it on Friday night.
