Start the Year Off Healthy With Vista Personal Training

For many, the holiday season represents a time for introspection and self-awareness, often inspiring one to set new goals and commitments. Exercise is a classic example of something so many people want to commit to, and for good reason. According to the American Heart Association, eating healthy and exercising regularly can prevent heart disease and improve your personal well-being. It’s a real commitment, but one that pays off, said Michal Lock of Vista Personal Training.

Michal dreamed of pursuing a career in fitness dating back to her teenage years when she was already committed to exercising regularly. Three years ago she decided to turn that dream into a reality and became an NASM certified trainer, specializing in women’s personal training. Catering to all levels of fitness, Michal aims to assist clients in reaching their optimal fitness goals.

Michal understands what each client is looking to take away from a workout session and customizes the routine accordingly. “I commit to my client’s personal success and I expect them to commit to themselves as well,” she says.

Michal trains clients in the comfort of their own space, providing the necessary equipment for a full body workout. Michal’s clients all agree that the conveniences of in-home training are tremendous. Whether you have young children at home or you are at work most hours of the day and lack the flexibility to get to the gym, Michal’s service provides the motivation that many women require to exercise.

Working exclusively with women has given Michal a greater insight into issues that are more specific to females. She understands the female anatomy and has worked with many pregnant and postpartum women who are looking for a safe, yet effective, workout. In addition to the core regimen she uses, Michal offers specialized moves that can benefit women at different stages of their lives.

“Michal worked with me for a year and a half, including when I was pregnant,” said Miechal K. “She displayed knowledge, sensitivity and creativity in designing workouts that were best suited for my needs. She is an expert in knowing how to improve form, strength and flexibility during an invigorating workout. Michal was always punctual, courteous, highly professional and a pleasure to get to know and work with. I highly recommend her as a personal trainer.”

The beauty of personal training is the individualized attention that Michal offers. “I can’t stress enough the importance of form when exercising,” she said. “Avoiding injury while at the same time pushing clients to their maximum potential is the objective.” The attention to detail her clients receive during a one-on-one training session is something you won’t find in a classroom setting.

Michal’s friendly demeanor is evident in her approach. “I’m not a drill sergeant,” she confides. “If a client requires a tough approach I can do that, or for those who prefer a laid-back style, that works too.” Most of her clients attest to a thorough workout with a trainer who has become more than someone who demonstrates exercise moves. Michal tries to get to know her clients personally, developing a connection that surpasses the medicine ball.

“Michal is right on target,” said Ruthie Ben-Dayan, who describes her workout as fun and motivating. “She knows her stuff and she quickly gets to know her clients’ specific needs, strengthening where necessary and easing into turning any weakness into yet another strength.”

Michal helps clients set long-term goals and she is mindful to keep up with many who have moved away to make sure they stay on track.

Michal’s primary method of exercise is based on functional resistance circuit training, often using one’s own body weight in addition to dumbbells and kettlebells to build endurance. She also puts a lot of focus on core work and balance, both extremely important for women overall. “So many of the moves I teach are critical for everyday skills,” she explains. “The goal is to improve one’s quality of life through exercise.”

Michal is offering new clients a free in-home consultation. For more information please email [email protected], call 732-784-7828 or follow her on Instagram @vista.fit.
