Ta’anit Esther at Yeshivat Noam—In Loving Memory of Noah Seidenfeld, z”l

Ten years ago the Bergen County community was deeply saddened by the news of a tragic fire that claimed the lives of four Seidenfeld children: Ari, 15, Noah, 6, Adira, 5 and Natan, 4.

Noah was a kindergarten student at Yeshivat Noam, and each year since his passing the students of Yeshivat Noam have dedicated Ta’anit Esther as the “Noah Seidenfeld Memorial Day” with special limud Torah and Chesed programs. This year the day was marked by a shiur on the topic of Emunah by Rabbi Ephraim Buchwald of NJOP, an “Ask the Rabbi” session with Rabbi Yosef Adler of Congregation Rinat Yisrael in Teaneck and an “Ask the Rebbetzin” session with Rebbetzin Chana Reichman of Englewood and a shiur on the Megilah by Mrs. Becky Troodler, YN assistant principal and Noah’s kindergarten teacher.

Noah’s kindergarten classmates (class of 2013) were also invited to come to Yeshivat Noam on March 2nd to remember Noah. Over 25 students came and, joined by Noah’s mother Phyllis, they remembered Noah with stories and anecdotes. Phyliss then spoke to the group about Emunah and shared her “formula” for belief: counting your blessings + it is all relative + shift your perspective = Emunah.

May Noah and his siblings’ memory be a blessing.
