TABC Freshmen Lead JV Soccer Past Heschel

(TABC sports) The TABC JV soccer team hosted the Heschel Heat in their first home game of the season this past Monday night. The Storm were off to a quick start with Adiv Rimberg scoring the first two goals of the game. Heschel immediately responded to tie the game at two apiece. Captain Sammy Mohl regained the lead for the Storm immediately to preserve a one-goal lead after the first quarter. The Heat kept growing into the game and for the first time all season, TABC found themselves down one at the halftime break. Things got worse as Heschel grew their lead to two in the third quarter. The game would have been out of reach if not for some clutch goals from captain Noam Bieler to keep the Storm within striking distance. Natan Rouach was a spark off the bench and tied things up as the teams headed into the final quarter. Thanks to the dynamic freshmen duo of Rimberg and Tani Fleischmann, the Storm earned a penalty kick which Fleischmann slotted in with ease. Heschel tied the game later off a set piece. Fleischmann and Rimberg had the final say though: After winning possession back from Heschel at halfcourt, Fleischmann gave a perfect-inch pass to Rimberg who calmly netted it. The Heat had one last clear-cut opportunity to tie things up to force OT with under a minute remaining, but Gabe Melnikov made a terrific save to thwart the opportunity. The Storm won by a final score of 9-8 to improve to 3-0 on the season. They will now face their neighborhood competitors, the Frisch Cougars, in a Sunday evening tilt.
