TABC Hits the Road for Chesed

A delegation of 14 TABC juniors and seniors traveled to Philadelphia and southern New Jersey for a chesed trip last week. First stop was packing and delivering food for the Jewish Relief Agency in Philadelphia. Following lunch, they headed to the Inglis House, a home for wheelchair bound individuals with multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy. Shifting from chesed to talmud Torah, the group davened mincha in the famed Philadelphia Yeshiva and heard a shmooze from Rav Shmuel Kaminetzky. As they headed back to New Jersey, the group enjoyed some time on the beach in Deal, despite the frigid weather.

On the second day of the trip, the group fixed generators and unpacked tins at the Bikur Cholim of Lakewood. This was followed by a tour of the Beis Midrash Hagadol of Lakewood and a shiur with Rav Schustal. After a stop visiting with kids at the Center for Special Children, the group visited the West Orange Bikur Cholim where they were surprised with ice cream sundaes, provided by the Bikur Cholim. The trip was a wonderful balance of chesed and learning, a balance that TABC strives to inculcate in all of its talmidim.
