This past Thursday, TABC’s JV Soccer Team hosted NSHA for a rematch of last year’s championship game. With a tentative start, TABC grabbed at 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Picking up the tempo, and applying a full court press, with a blend of stifling defense, solid goal-tending and its own West-coast style “run and gun,” TABC scored 4 unanswered goals in the 2nd period, extending the lead at halftime to 6-1. With 2 more goals in the third period, and an added goal in the 4th, TABC prevailed with a final score of 9-2—another total team contribution enabling TABC to garner its third consecutive victory to start the season.
Goals were scored by Calev Minsky (’16): 3 goals, 1 assist; Yosef Sinai (’16): 3 goals, 1 assist; Golan Meir (’17): 1 goal, 3 assists; Yosef Hein (’16) 1 goal; and Zachary Orenshein (’16) 1 goal. As always, fine defense was delivered by the “Yoes”: Yosef Muller (’16), Yosef Sinai (’16), Yosef Mirwis (’16), Yosef Hein (’16) and Yosef Goldblatt (’16). Once again, clutch aggressive goal-tending prevailed by Jared Benjamin (’16), with a fourth quarter shout-out to Judah Lyons (’16).
TABC is now 3-0 in the standings with a goal differential of 30 goals for and 6 goals against.
